KOBE 8 SYSTEM Year of the Horse
To sum up.. Kobe 8 is the best shoe of Bryant’s line, period. Breathability, almost unnoticeable weight, awesome cushioning and impact protection, outsole that glues to the surface and predator-inspired looks. What more can you possibly want?
The long-awaited Kobe 8 are finally here! These are the best Kobe yet, easily. First thing to notice about 8s is their weight - 9.6 oz makes them one of the lightest if not THE lightest basketball shoes of all time. As the trend continues, Kobe 8 also features a removable insert setup, just like Kobe 7. This one, however is made of Lunarlon. The same Lunarlon that was used in Hyperdunk 2012 and Fly Wade. It offers great cushioning and comfort. The main thing about this awesome foam is its resilience and responsiveness. It absorbs every impact, spreading its energy evenly throughout the whole insole, thus reducing stress and pressure put on muscles and joints. Another great thing about the foam is that it molds to the foot over time, providing great fit. The upper part of the shoe features Fuse based materials and engineered mesh on both lateral medial sides. One may assume that low cut, low mass and mesh upper would not make a good basketball shoe.. That assumption would be totally wrong though. Nike designers thought about everything, Kobe 8’s construction is stiff enough to provide required support, and yet flexible, to keep up with a guard’s quickness. Newest Kobes also feature a TPU heel-cup and a midfoot shank. Combined with special lacing system, these shoes will keep the foot in one place, offering awesome lockdown. When it comes to the outsole of the Kobe 8.. it features a reliable herringbone pattern which combined with soft rubber make them glue to the surface. Front to back movements, jab-steps, crossovers, pushing off, everything is covered.
